Forever is only the beginning...

Forever is FOREVAH when you're a vampire.  

I was gonna wait to see Breaking Dawn until the hooplah died down.  And I did wait.  18 hours.  Ha!  I'm pathetic.

But I'm not even ashamed that I like Twilight.  I've said it here before.  Openly and without shame.  At 44, I love me this teenaged vampire love story.

And it's exciting to go and be a part of that chaos.

I consumed all four books in about three months' time, back when I worked at Citi and we were slow.  I read them at work!  So when the movies started, I got sucked into them, too.

And I'm not the only one.  Breaking Dawn made $70 million yesterday, over $30 million at the midnight showing.  That's pretty incredible for a bunch of kids.

Breaking Dawn was my favorite book of the four so I've been looking forward to this movie for years.  Yes, even though it basically builds up to nothing much.  It was my favorite.  I love Renesmee's sweet little character and I really hope Stephenie Meyers writes her story as well.

The movie did not disappoint.  I laughed a lot and even cried twice.  I thought Kristen Stewart did an amazing job in this movie.  Bella's inexperienced attempt at seduction was absolutely hilarious.  As a beautiful bride, nervous newlywed and then the very pregnant Bella, who was determined to protect and have her baby, despite the fact the child was killing her, robbing her of nutrients and breaking her bones.  True to the book, she looked like a corpse.  Skinny and gray.  It was really hard to watch.

And she seems to have gotten control over that thing she was doing with her mouth that drove me up a tree.  Maybe she heard it bugged me. :)  I wrote on Facebook that I take back all the snarky things I've ever said about her.  She was awesome. 

They all were.  Jacob's imprinting on the baby was both sweet and hilarious.  The wolf pack angst was great comic relief and the bed-breaking scene was one of the funniest scenes of the series.

This movie is part one of the story and breaks in just the right place.  Part two will be released next November.  I'll be there.

Eclipse at Midnight!

I was here making history last night at midnight to see the premiere of Twilight #3, Eclipse! I say making history 'cause I'm hearing that the midnight showings brought in record $$$$, like $30 million. That's a lot of crazy, screaming girls.  I was there with my friends, Kelly and Jennifer, and a new friend, Alexis.  We went to the new Houston Lakes theater and I was so impressed with how very organized and calm it was.  We did have to stand in line about an hour to get seated but they were filling up all ten rooms and it just took a while.  

I thought the movie was great!!  I thought Kristen Stewart was so much better in #3 than she was in the first two.  She has this really annoying thing she does with her mouth that drives me up a tree but she didn't seem to do it that much in Eclipse. Maybe somebody's said something to her about it and she's working on it. Whatever, she seemed better, more animated, funnier and a much better actress.  Maybe she's finally getting comfortable in her role.  I thought she did good!

The funniest thing to me was when Jacob told Edward, "I'm hotter than you." He was talking about keeping Bella warm but it was SO obvious that that had a double meaning. Taylor Lautner's first scene, in a SHIRT, mind you, brought the house down. 

We'll have to wait until November 2011 for the first installment of Breaking Dawn.  That was my favorite book of them all.  I can wait.  I got True Blood to keep me, um, occupied.

I'Mo Be There...

....just not at midnight.

New Moon will be released at midnight tomorrow night.  There are DVD release parties planned all over the country and although I took Jessica to last year's Twilight party, I think I'll pass this year. We went to the one at Wal-Mart and we got there a little after 11:00 to find the party in full swing.  There were people (grown folks, y'all, not just kids!) dressed up like vampires and werewolves and some had on Team Edward and Team Jacob t-shirts and a line had already formed in electronics that stretched clear around to housewares.  The whole experience was amazing!  The excitement in the air was awesome. My old ass loved being a part of it! We had a ball and finally got our DVDs around 12:30. There were gift packages for the first 100 DVDs sold and Jessi and I were #99 and #100. That was pretty dang cool.

I'm gonna pass on the party this year.  I gotta go pick up a couple of things Saturday at Target and I'll get my copy then.  

I'm still waaaaaaay excited.  :)

I Followed Your Scent (Edward Cullen, Twilight)

Can you be in love with a fragrance?  'Cause I think I am. If Oprah would let me anywhere near her couch, I'd jump up and down on it, Tom Cruise style.

I got lots of Twilight Woods stuff for Christmas.  It's a new line at Bath and Body Works and I'd tried it at the store in November, loved it and added it to my Christmas list.  Ami and Mama hooked me up!

Of course, the name is not lost on me.  I know B&BW was trying to get all of us Twihards to buy it.  They ain't foolin' nobody.  Not no 42-year-old Twihard anyway. They sure got their wish because they can't keep it on the shelves!  It smells really, really good, though, Twilight connection aside.  It's woodsy, dusky, with touches of berry, mimosa and apricot.  And I swear I smell a little patchouli in there.  Ooooo, and the Triple Moisture Body Cream is like buttah.  It leaves your skin so soft and smooth. Twilight Woods is warm, cozy and sooooooo romantic, like a walk in the woods.

Yeah. I'm One Of Those People.

I admit openly and without shame that I love me some Twilight. I read all four of the books last year (mostly at work when we were so slow!) and I just fell in love with Edward and Bella. I even got Larry to read them! Ami and Brian, too! And while the actual writing may be a little juvenile, the story is awesome and so, sooooo romantic.

I saw Twilight twice at the theater, once with Jessi, and then she and I stood in line in March at midnight to get the DVD when it came out. I don't even remember how many times we watched it that weekend!

I stood in line again today to get tickets to see New Moon Saturday afternoon.  I'd have to go all Volturi on some teenagers at the theater if I tried to see it tomorrow.
