In my preparation for The Ultimate Homecoming, I have cleaned out, organized, donated and tossed probably more than I've kept.  It is amazing how much stuff you accumulate in ten years!  And while I was cleaning, organizing and tossing, naturally I discovered some forgotten treasures.

My grandma, our Maw, passed away almost two years ago.  Before that, though, she had been living in nursing homes for almost a decade.  When she was living on her own and shopping on her own, she would buy all of us Christmas presents.  ALL of us.  And if you know our family, we're aplenty!  I can't remember exactly but I'm guessing the last time she was able to shop for us was around 2000 or 2001.

The very last Christmas present I got from my Maw was a big box of candles.  I had completely forgotten about them until I went through my candle cabinet and found them, way in the back. Apple Cinnamon, French Vanilla, Mountain Berry and Wild Orchids.  There are three of each in the box.

This being my birthday month, I've been all about some presents!  And I've been enjoying my Maw Candles.

I can feel her presence so strong most days but even more so when I'm enjoying her presents.  :)

  1. I know that was a special find. we all miss her and think about her . I still feel her presence here at the house . Sometimes I hear her call Daddy during the day. She will always be with us. Glad she had a part in sharing your Birthday month.

  2. Ginger, I so enjoy reading all your blogs even though we've never met in person, I feel as if you are a kind kindred spirit!! I am so happy for you and Larry and I know that Stacy and my day will be upon us when God chooses as man cannot stop what God brings forward!! Again, thank you for such wonderful blogs!!

    1. Awww, thanks, Kathy!! Just keep praying, girl! We are proof that when the Parole Board says never, God says, "I got this!" :) Your and Stacy's day WILL come!! Thanks for reading my blogs, too!

  3. You are so very welcome again of repeating myself I so enjoy reading your blogs!! Have a great weekend and be blessed!

  4. Very sweet. I had a collection of old candles for a long time, but I did gradually burn most of them up.
