So far, so good! I've lost 16 pounds!
My favorite recipe from the book that I make a lot are the ricotta desserts. But I eat them for breakfast!
I just take 1/2 cup of part skim ricotta cheese and add a packet of Truvia, a 1/2 tsp of vanilla and cinnamon or unsweetened cocoa powder or lemon zest or whatever I feel like for flavor. It's really yummy and tastes a LOT like cheesecake.
Another thing I really like are oven-roasted garbanzo beans. I eat them a lot, too.
I walk on my treadmill a few days a week but I'm not a fanatic about it. I never will be about exercise! :)
But I think I'm off to a good start. Larry's been doing Atkins for a week and a half and he's already lost 12 pounds. If I didn't love him so dang much, I'd hate him. Ha!
So that's where we are. I'd love it if anybody else out there doing South Beach would leave me some tips!!
That's wonderful! Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is wonderful. 16 lbs. Don't even think about men and weight loss, they in a whole different place than women. They can leave off one biscuit and lose a pant size.
ReplyDeleteI am just trying to stay back from sugar. So hard since I am sure I am a sugar addict. Is there a pill for that?
Nice going.
Way to go! Since you're so good at it, I could send you 16 of my pounds. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, Ginger!!! I wasn't a big fan of exercise either. Found that I really enjoyed water aerobics. When it gets warmer out, you might want to give it a try - it's actually kinda fun! Here's a tip for you - make whole wheat spaghetti noodles. Make spaghetti squash. Use 1/2 cup of noodles and mix in as much spaghetti squash as you like. I then make a crockpot sauce using canned crushed tomatoes, canned diced tomatoes, diced up zucchini, diced up yellow squash, onion, mushroom, and garlic. I let it cook all day while I'm at work and then put it on top of my noodle/spaghetti squash combo and it's fabulous - low carb and high veggie!!!
