He is not here!

Happy Resurrection Day!!

Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph over His foes.  That is our theme for today!

I'm looking forward to a beautiful Easter Sunday today with my family.  Daddy's grilling hamburgers and hot dogs and I'm really excited about seeing my cousins who I haven't seen in a long time, except on Facebook!  It'll be good to see 'em in person.  :)

Yesterday, Larry took a few napkins at our table and made me this crown of thorns.  He sits there sometimes and makes flowers and butterflies and whatever pops into his mind, just to be making something for me.  I am a lucky girl.

The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head.

Friday happened but Sunday's HERE!!

Happy Palm Sunday!

Palm Sunday.  The Sunday before Easter, the day we remember the impending death of our Lord, when it all got started.  I have mixed emotions about this day.  I'm reminded of just how wishy-washy people can be when I read the story.  The people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus and laid down palm fronds and even their clothing for Him, to cushion His ride, as He rode His donkey into town.  They shouted "Hosanna! (save us!)" and then five days later, those same folks were yelling "Crucify Him!".  Everything played out as God's plan but I still feel anger, I still feel heartsick, when I think about His suffering.

These first days of Holy Week are happy ones, before the sadness sets in on Friday.  But it's incredible JOY we'll feel on Sunday 'cause that's the BEST PART!!  His Resurrection!!

C'mon get hoppy

I pulled out some of my Easter decorations today.  Now that's not nearly the event that pulling out my Christmas stuff is but I do have a few favorite little things that I like to get out every year.  Last year, I didn't do the eggs on my fence because I was still mad about the MOON next door but I'm pretty much over that.  I try not to stay mad about anything long.  Besides, there's not a thing I can do about it anyway.  So, with a kind, understanding neighbor heart (ha!) and in the misting rain today, I hung my pink and green and yellow eggs on the fence and put my little metal bunny right in front.
I hung some tie-dyed eggs on one of the eucalyptus trees, too!
See the prize egg??

Here are just a few of the little cuties inside!

Jude and Lucy, still keeping things groovy

Sweet little stuffed Peep that I found in my Easter basket a few years ago (yeah, and I might have a Beanie Baby or two)

And my cherished collection of beautiful eggs that
Ami made for me over the course of several years
