The hippie curtain

 
I found this ahhhhh-dorable 1970's Flower Power cafe curtain at an estate sale, stuck waaaaaay back in the linens and the aprons for FOUR DOLLARS.

I had every intention of it being our kitchen curtain but alas, windows nowadays are wider, taller and generally not so flower-powery.  I had a sad about it.

But leave it to my wonderful husband to come up with a solution!!  I got home from work today and he had put it up over the window on the kitchen door, the door that leads into our sun room (or mud room, depending on what season we're in!).  I love it there.

 I could just eat this fabric.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Look what my Valentine sent me yesterday on our anniversary!!  Gorgeous roses and daisies.  Daisies are my favorite flowers and he never forgets to include some in arrangements he sends me.  Ain't he a sweet 'un, though??  

These roses smell incredible, too.  Got my whole house smelling gooooooood!!  They were such a wonderful surprise.  He had them delivered to the college while I was in class so I got to show 'em off a little.  I was so excited!!

 Tabbie Hoffman got his very first Valentine this morning, too!  A Bouncy Mouse.

He like him.  :)

My New Quilt!

Larry read about this program in a magazine where they make and distribute quilts to children of incarcerated people and he wrote them to see if they'd be willing to make me one. They wrote him back and said they'd be happy to, they just needed to know my favorite colors. He told them blue and brown and they sent me a quilt!! It's perfect and looks sooooo pretty on our bed, don't you think??

My Very Own Lighthouse

Look at what my sweet husband made

for me for my birthday! I absolutely

love lighthouses (and anything beach-related except for maybe sand you-know-where) and Larry made this for me. It took him six months and he did such an incredible job!!! I couldn't wait to share it!!

I love it so much!!!! I put it in the foyer so it's the first thing you see when you walk in the front door.

We've always said we'd love to buy an old lighthouse and fix it up and live in it. I want to find one JUST LIKE THIS ONE!!!

I just cannot get over the detail!! Look at that little walkway. And there's a swing and a picnic table, too. And flowers!

He's so dang sweet!!! :)

And he even made my own little rowboat tied to the dock with a piece of rope. He called it the S. S. Ginger. Awwwww.

Inside the lighthouse is a spiral staircase and he even put a light in the top. He sure went to an awful lot of trouble for me.

I think he might even like me a little bit.

I sure like him, too. ;)
